Hasse's Requiem in C at the Muskfest Erzgebirge
Johann Adolf Hasse, the 'italian Saxon', brought the music of the Dresden Court and the Royal Opera to fame all over Europe. During the last years, not least because of the efforts of the Dresdner Kammerchor and Hans-Christoph Rademann, Hasse's music becomes better known.
In the St. Marienkirche/ Marienberg Hasse's opulent Requiem C-Dur will be performed. It is written on the death of Friedrich August II., Elector of Saxony. Although composed as a commemoration of the dead, the Requiem is a magnificent highlight of the italien-saxon glance at the Dresden Court.
